Lester’s journey into the financial services industry was not conventional. Joining at the age of 43, he faced the challenges of starting anew. However, armed with a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to excellence, he persevered. “You have only one shot to make a first impression,” Lester emphasizes, highlighting the importance of establishing trust and credibility from the outset.

Prior to his career in finance, Lester spent 22 years in the Air Force, where he honed invaluable skills in discipline, leadership, and adaptability. These qualities have been instrumental in shaping his approach to financial planning, where precision and attention to detail are paramount. Additionally, Lester spent five years teaching Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC), which led him to target the Florida Retirement System as a key market. He also coached high school baseball and football, demonstrating his dedication to mentorship and community involvement.

A Champion of Education and Integrity

For Lester, success is not just about numbers; it’s about making a difference in people’s lives. “You must have a passion for what you are doing and try to help people,” he asserts. This ethos underscores his commitment to understanding his clients’ needs and crafting tailored solutions that align with their goals and aspirations.

Lester’s accolades, including being named Associate of the Year and achieving membership in prestigious organizations like the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), are a testament to his dedication and expertise. In 2024, he was recognized as a Million Dollar Round Table: Top of the Table and Blue Chip Conference Leader. He is a member of Society 1851. Additionally, he holds his Series 6, 63 and 65 and 215 insurance license, further cementing his credentials in the industry. His achievements also include attending the Coastal Wealth Annual Trip in 2021 at Biltmore and in 2023 in Santa Barbara. However, he remains grounded in his belief that integrity and honesty are non-negotiables in an industry built on trust.

Passing the Torch: A Legacy of Excellence

As Lester looks towards the future, he sees his son, Logan, as a vital part of his legacy. With Logan recently obtaining his Series 7 license and 215 insurance license and joining Lester in the practice, the father-son duo is poised to continue the tradition of excellence for years to come. “In about 10 more years, he will turn over his practice to his son,” Lester shares, highlighting his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and sustaining the legacy he has built.

A Vision for the Future

In his role at Coastal Wealth, Lester remains focused on his target markets: business owners and members of the Florida Retirement System. Through ongoing education, strategic planning, and a client-centric approach, he aims to empower individuals to navigate the complexities of retirement planning with confidence and clarity.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Lester finds fulfillment in his family life. He has been married to Teresa, a dedicated Christian school teacher, since 1998. Lester raised four sons including Logan Hamrick, Lester’s Licensed Paraplanner. His team also includes Paige Thomas (Office Manager) and Robert Schreiber (Assistant), as well as his collaboration with George Avant and Tyler Huston, Lester’s practice is built on a foundation of collaboration and shared values.
