As the Head of Coastal Wealth's Planning Solutions Group, a Division of Coastal Wealth, Dr. Jason Heller plays a critical role at Coastal Wealth, leading a professional team of para-planners, product line specialists, financial planners and advance market professionals, who work together to help you make informed decisions that can help maximize your client relationships. Prior to joining our firm, Dr. Heller worked as an Investment Specialist at MassMutual South Florida and Guardian Life Insurance after managing his own private practice for several years. In 2007, Guardian named Jason their National Investment Specialist of the year. Jason is a lifetime qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table and a qualifying member of the Court of the Table in years 2010/12/14/15/16/17/18/19/20 and 2021. Jason has qualified for Top of the Table once (2021).
Dr. Heller is not only a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional (CFP®), he has earned thirty industry designations, including the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®), a designation given jointly by the Wharton School of Business and the Investments & Wealth Institute, along with the Retirement Income Certified Planner (RICP). Jason has received his Ph.D. from the American College (’20) in financial and retirement planning. He also has two Masters degrees in Financial Services from the Institute of Business & Finance (’05) and the American College (’16).
Jason graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where he also played college basketball. He is an avid University of Miami athletics fan. Jason is married to Jessica, a third-generation Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) agent. They live in Ft. Lauderdale with their two children, Cameran and Jackson. Reed began his career in the financial services industry as an institutional fixed income broker with Crews & Associates in the immediate aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. After just over a year as a broker, he accepted a position on the trading desk at Simmons First National Bank, where he eventually became the Head Trader overseeing municipal, corporate and mortgage trading operations. He also revived the Bank’s Municipal Underwriting Desk and began bringing issues that raised money for rural school districts.
Since 2016, Reed has held various key positions with Coastal Wealth, a MassMutual firm, one of the fastest-growing MassMutual firms in the Southeast United States. Reed serves as Vice President of the firm’s Planning Solutions Group as an Investment Specialist. With his robust experience on a fixed income trading desk, compliance and operations, extensive knowledge of annuities, and financial planning, he has become a key valued member of Coastal Wealth’s Private Client Group, a division of Coastal Wealth. He is a frequent lecturer and speaker to our team of financial professionals conducting numerous education series and advanced concepts.

Sam Eppy earned his business degree in accounting from the University of Central Florida. He is the oldest son of Joe Eppy, who founded Levanti Wealth in 2022. Sam has always brought his knowledge and individual style to the firm. Sam’s work has a concentration on the business and legal community, and he works closely with families and their businesses. Sam favors a holistic approach to planning, taking all parts of his client’s finances, lifestyle, and goals into consideration. He often describes planning as a 3-legged stool; financial planning, insurance services, and investment management, each representing one leg holding up the stool. Some clients choose to utilize many services while others choose to take advantage of only certain components and that is just fine with Sam. Above all, he wants his clients to feel happy, secure, and well taken care of. Sam educates his clients to help facilitate their ability to make sound decisions. David started in the investment advice industry in 2000 at the private wealth management firm Dale K. Erhart, Inc. as an Operations Manager. Since then, he has worked in positions supporting advisors in writing comprehensive financial plans at Capital Panning Group, the AIG Financial Network and most recently as the head of the financial planning department for MassMutual South Florida since 2017.
In 2007, he earned the Chartered Financial Consultant designation from the American College, as well as the Chartered Life Underwriter designation in 2011. The financial planning department can help on both fee-based plans and non-fee-based strategies – this is something we can touch on in your individual town hall meetings. Michele has over 30 years of experience in the disability income insurance arena. Starting her career with Provident life, she joined MassMutual 15 years ago as both the internal Disability and Long-Term Care Specialist, supporting the career agency system as well as Brokers. She specializes in working with agents and their clients to protect their income, as well as asset protection needs.
Michele has earned the RHU and REBC® designations; she is a certified Continuing Education Instructor; Past President of the Women In Financial Services Organization; she is also the current Chapter President of Broward NAIFA. She will be conducting our DI & LTC Training and is also available for Joint Work. Michele is a resource on all MML DI and LTC products as well as those of other companies. Marcia started her career with MassMutual in 1982 and spent 15 years in the Life Sales and Competition Unit. In 1999, she became Life Regional Director for the MassMutual agencies in New England and Pennsylvania, providing support to the Career Agency System and brokers in that territory. In 2003, she relocated to Florida and became the Life Regional Director for all MassMutual agencies in the southern region. In 2010, Marcia retired from MassMutual and took on the role of Agency Life Product Specialist in the former MassMutual Jacksonville-Savannah agency.
Marcia earned her CLU designation from the American College in 1993, and her ChFC® designation in 1995.
With expertise in MassMutual’s life products, and overall life insurance topics, Marcia is a valuable resource in life sales. Her responsibilities for Coastal Wealth include training on life products, the MassMutual sales illustration system, as well as educating agents on various important life insurance topics, such as direct recognition, modified endowment contracts, and stock versus mutual insurance companies. Ryan began his career in the financial services industry focusing on personal finance and insurance planning promptly after graduating from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he played college soccer. Ryan was drafted in Major League Soccer and played 3 years of professional soccer before beginning his career with our firm in 2009. His experience in sports built a solid foundation for his career, fostering strategic thinking and focus on competitive strategy to drive the best possible results.
His passion for helping people at a relatively young age and the fulfillment of seeing a business and family achieve their financial goals led Ryan to join our Planning Solutions Group, a Division of Coastal Wealth, in 2015, a team of product and concept specialists whose sole purpose is to help advisors grow their practice by providing comprehensive financial planning services. I have been with MassMutual since 2014, starting my career working with Third Party Distribution, Licensing and Commissions. After 2 years, I was promoted and moved to become a Relationship Manager for Annuity New Business. During this time, I managed East Coast agencies in the new business process, aided in the transition to our partners in Topeka, Se2, and helped stand up a new Fixed Annuity Order Entry process.
